Raised by a Village

Since we just passed Mother's Day I want to write about my village of women who raised me to be what I am today. When I was younger I lived with my grandmother, my mom, and one of my aunts, a house filled with all women. When my mom would have to go to work my grandmother would take me to my doctor appointments and then we'd go to shoprite and dunkin donuts. My grandmother is the heart of the family, she has so much love to give even when some people don't deserve it, she has raised her 4 kids and even took care of her siblings and she deserves the world. There has never been a time in my life that I went without because my grandmother, my mom and my aunts were always buying things for us. I know it was hard on my mom being a single mother and I'm just glad that she had so much support behind her when it came to raising me. I wouldn't be the person that I am today if it wasn't for my mom, my grandmother, and my aunts raising me and teaching me things all of the time. I enjoy hearing their crazy stories and seeing them all interact with each other when we get together. I don't want to write too much about how amazing single moms and moms in general are, but just know you are appreciated and there will never be enough words to explain how important you are in this world. With that being said, I hope everybody had a great Mother's day and was surrounded by love. See you in my next post!
