Communication is Key

I know you probably hear communication is key a lot, but it is the truth. If you can't communicate in a relationship, you won't get far. Communication is important in friendships, romantic relationships, family relationships, and even work relationships. The most important thing when it comes to communication is listening, you can't have a comprehensive conversation without listening to what the other person has to say. Over the years I have gotten better at communicating with my friends and my relationships, before I would just talk and never listen to what the other person had to say, I had to get my point across and not hear what they had to say. Now, I do realize that I have to listen to other's povs and actually understand that they might've been hurt by what I said or how I said something. It's not an easy thing to do and I'm still working on my communication in my romantic relationship because I'm the type of person who will keep my emotions bottled up and just hold them there until I get over it. I was never the type of person to share my emotions (I'm a water sign, so you know I'm emotional) and even now I just keep it to myself because I might feel as though I'm overreacting. It doesn't solve the problem, it just delays it and makes things worse. Communicating can definitely help solve problems, even if you didn't think that they were big problems. Every year I learn more and this is one of the things that gets better every time and I'm thankful that I can understand it and use it to help my relationships or other's relationships. Anyways, we're about to close this chapter on 2020 and I'm praying that 2021 will be the change needed for normalcy. So with this last post of 2020, I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and I'll see you in the new year!
